NEMO Dagger OSMO 2P (SKU: UNVERIFIED — REI items 200550 / 242364)

Published · Researched 2026-09-21

2026 lineup note: The REI listing observed on 2026-09-20 shows a newly updated Dagger OSMO 2P (MSRP $599.95) with a revised DIAPOLE pole structure, 4 inches more door height, 2 inches more peak height, and 22% more vestibule space than the outgoing version. The outgoing version ($529.95) is the one most existing reviews describe. Specs below are for the 2026 update where confirmed; legacy figures are labeled as such and should not be mixed.

Version lineage (2023–2026)

• 2023: Dagger OSMO 2P continued in the outgoing form (min ~3 lb 6 oz, 31.3 sq ft, 42 in peak). No major redesign documented for 2023; color/trim updates possible — UNVERIFIED year-by-year.
• 2024: Same outgoing platform; retailer listings consistently showed MSRP $529.95.
• 2025: Same outgoing platform continued; $529.95 pricing widely listed.
• 2026: Updated version launched — REI lists it at $599.95 with the DIAPOLE pole structure, taller doors (+4 in), taller peak (+2 in), and larger vestibules (+22%). Older-version specs (3 lb 6 oz min, 31.3 sq ft, 42 in peak, 1500/2000 mm ratings) do not apply to this version. The manufacturer (NEMO) SKU for the new version is UNVERIFIED; REI item numbers 200550 and 242364 appear to reference the current listings (observed 2026-09-20).

Used/clearance advice: A used or clearance Dagger OSMO 2P at ~$530 or below is almost certainly the pre-2026 version — fine to buy, but expect slightly less livability (shorter doors, smaller vestibules). If a listing advertises the DIAPOLE structure or $599.95 MSRP, it is the 2026 update.

Overview

The Dagger OSMO 2P is NEMO's flagship lightweight freestanding backpacking tent, built around OSMO fabric (a nylon/polyester ripstop blend with NEMO's water-repellent and stretch-control chemistry). The 2026 update's taller doors and expanded vestibules target the outgoing model's main criticisms: a low door and modest gear space. It remains a 3-season, 2-person, double-wall, freestanding tent aimed at backpackers who want near-ultralight weight with genuine livability.

Key Specs

Conflict note: retailer listings for the outgoing version variously cite 31.3 vs 30.6 sq ft floor area and 42 vs 43 in peak height — these reflect version/packaging differences, not errors to average. Use the 2026 figures (30.6 sq ft, 43 in) from the current REI listing.

Pricing

• MSRP: $599.95 USD — REI listing for the 2026 updated Dagger OSMO 2P, observed 2026-09-20. This is the current list price; the outgoing version was $529.95.
• Street price: No distinct street discount found on 2026-09-20; REI sells at MSRP. The $529.95 figure seen on older listings is the outgoing version's price, not a discount on the new one. Re-verify live before purchase.

In the Box

• Tent body, OSMO rainfly, DIAPOLE pole set, stakes, guylines, stuff sacks, repair kit. (Standard NEMO contents; exact 2026-version packing list UNVERIFIED from a primary source.)
• Footprint: sold separately (not included).
• Needed extras: none beyond the footprint if you want one; trekking poles not required (freestanding).

Warranty

NEMO "Adventure Forever" guarantee (observed 2026-09-20, https://www.nemoequipment.com/pages/adventure-forever-guarantee): lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser with proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. NEMO will repair or replace at its discretion; if the item is unavailable, a credit may be issued. Not covered: normal wear and tear, misuse, alterations, neglect. Secondhand/garage-sale purchases do not qualify as original purchase.

Support & Parts

NEMO handles support and warranty directly (online warranty/repair form; repair program advertised under the Adventure Forever guarantee). Replacement poles, stakes, and footprints are available through NEMO and retailers. NEMO's repair-first culture is well regarded by owners; turnaround times vary seasonally.

Community Verdict

Qualitative and sourced: Adventure Alan's long-form review of the Dagger OSMO 2P (2022) rated it among the best 2-person backpacking tents of its generation, praising livability-for-weight. Owner discussion on r/Ultralight and backpacking forums centers on two themes: (1) single-wall-adjacent condensation management in humid conditions, and (2) the premium price versus close rivals (e.g., Big Agnes Copper Spur, MSR Hubba Hubba — excluded sibling-track models). The 2026 update directly addresses the most common livability complaint (door height, vestibule space). No invented scores: verdict is "top-tier mainstream lightweight 2P tent, premium-priced."
