Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 (SKU: UNVERIFIED)

Published · Researched 2026-09-21

2026 lineup note: The current Tiger Wall UL2 is the solution-dyed version (Big Agnes moved the series to solution-dyed fabrics for lower environmental impact). Manufacturer MSRP observed 2026-09-20: $499.95 at https://www.bigagnes.com/collections/tiger-wall-ul-series. An older/solution-dyed listing at $449.95 appears on some third-party sites (Locally) — treat that figure as stale or version-ambiguous, not as a live discount.

Version lineage (2023–2026)

• 2023: Solution-dyed Tiger Wall UL series on sale (MSRP around $449.95 at that time, per older listings). No structural redesign documented for 2023 — UNVERIFIED year-by-year.
• 2024: Tiger Wall UL2 Bikepack variant continued alongside the standard model (bikepack version is heavier, with bike-specific features). Standard model unchanged in structure.
• 2025: Standard Tiger Wall UL2 continued; pricing in the $449.95–$499.95 band across retailers.
• 2026: Current series listing at bigagnes.com shows $499.95 (observed 2026-09-20). No new structural redesign confirmed for 2026; the solution-dyed construction carries over.

Used/clearance advice: Pre-solution-dye Tiger Wall UL2s (older non-solution-dyed fly, often listed at $449.95) appear used and on clearance — structurally the same tent, lighter on the eco-label only. The Bikepack version is a distinct, heavier variant: don't confuse its weight with the standard UL2's.

Overview

The Tiger Wall UL2 is Big Agnes's minimalist double-wall 2-person tent and a perennial ultralight favorite. It uses a hubbed pole architecture with a single hub at the head end, making it semi-freestanding: the head end stands on its own, the foot end must be staked. At ~2 lb 3 oz trail weight for a true two-door/double-wall tent, it remains one of the lightest conventional tents in its class — at the cost of thin 15D fabrics and a tapered floor plan.

Key Specs

Pricing

• MSRP: $499.95 USD — bigagnes.com Tiger Wall UL series collection, observed 2026-09-20.
• Street price: $449.95 seen on Locally (third-party listing, observed 2026-09-20) — likely a stale or older-version listing rather than a live discount on the current tent. Re-verify live; expect street prices at or near MSRP from authorized dealers.

In the Box

• Tent body, fly, DAC pole set, stakes, guylines, stuff sacks. (Standard Big Agnes contents; exact packing list UNVERIFIED from a primary source for the 2026 SKU.)
• Footprint: not included — sold separately, and prudent given the thin 15D floor.
• Needed extras: footprint strongly recommended; trekking poles not required.

Warranty

Big Agnes limited warranty (observed 2026-09-20, https://www.bigagnes.com/blogs/support/warranty-policy): covers defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product, purchase from an authorized retailer required, proof of purchase may be required. Big Agnes will repair or replace at its discretion. Not covered: normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, alterations. Note: warranty repairs are commonly quoted at 1–2 months turnaround — plan around trips.

Support & Parts

Big Agnes runs its own warranty/repair department (contact via https://www.bigagnes.com/pages/contact; warranty submissions online). Replacement poles, stakes, and footprints available through Big Agnes and retailers. Owner reports consistently describe the repair service as effective but slow in peak season.

Community Verdict

Qualitative and sourced: the Tiger Wall UL2 is a fixture of r/Ultralight "lightest double-wall 2P" discussions and appears on major best-tent roundups (CleverHiker, Treeline Review). The consensus tradeoffs are stable across years: (1) exceptional weight-to-livability ratio for a true double-wall two-door tent; (2) the foot end must be staked — it is not fully freestanding, which matters on rock, sand, or platforms; (3) 15D floor and fly demand care — the footprint is treated as near-mandatory by experienced owners, and the tent is less forgiving of rough sites than burlier rivals; (4) tapered at the feet, so it's snug for two large sleepers. Verdict: the default UL double-wall pick if you accept the fragility-and-staking bargain.
