Version lineage (2023–2026)
- 1964–2015: the original — Al Buck's lockback design that defined the folding hunter; brass and wood, 7.2 oz, 3.75 in 420HC blade. Tens of millions sold.
- 2016–2022: variants proliferate — 110 LT (lightweight), 110 Slim (pocket-clip versions), auto (110 Auto) — the classic 0110BRS-B continued unchanged.
- 2023–2026: classic continued — 0110BRS-B unchanged; Buck's "Forever Warranty" and US production (Post Falls, Idaho) remain the selling story. No redesign of the classic as of Sept 2026.
Overview
The 110 is the folding knife that taught America what a folding knife is: a 3.75 in 420HC clip-point blade in brass and ebony Dymondwood, locking up with a bank-vault lockback, riding in a leather belt sheath. At 7.2 oz it's a belt knife, not a pocket knife, and the community loves it on exactly those terms — a traditional hunter that still works as a camp knife six decades on. Buck's heat-treated 420HC punches above its steel designation, and the Forever Warranty is genuinely honored. It's heavy, it's slow to open one-handed, and nobody buying one cares.

Community Verdict
The 110's social standing is "grandfather's knife, still working" — hunting and EDC communities treat it as the timeless American folder, with owners posting 30- and 40-year-old examples still in service. The recurring community themes: the lockup is still bank-vault solid, Buck's 420HC heat treat outperforms the steel's budget reputation, and the weight (7.2 oz) is the price of admission. Younger EDC crowds find it heavy and slow versus modern one-hand folders; traditionalists consider that the point. No fabricated scores.
