Thetford Porta Potti 365 (Qube 365)
Published · Researched 2026-09-21
Brand: Thetford · Model: Porta Potti 365 / Porta Potti Qube 365 · Part #: 92820 · Category: Portable flush toilet
Lineup note: The step-up model above the Porta Potti 345 (see existing dossier /library/gear/hygiene-sanitation/thetford-porta-potti-345/). The 365 adds a larger waste tank and piston-flush system with a waste-level indicator.
Version Lineage (2023–2026)
- The Porta Potti 365 (also marketed as the Qube 365) has been the mid-range Thetford portable toilet throughout 2023–2026 with no announced generational redesign in that window.
- Regional naming: "Qube 365" branding appears in EU/UK listings; "Porta Potti 365" in US/CA listings. Same product, part 92820.
Overview
A two-piece portable cassette toilet: 15 L fresh-water tank above, 21 L waste-holding tank below, with a piston pump flush and a waste-level indicator so you know when the lower tank needs emptying. At 408 mm seat height it sits close to a household toilet. The standard choice for car campers, van builds, and boaters who want a real flush toilet without plumbing.

Warranty
CONFLICT/UNVERIFIED: The existing thetford-porta-potti-345 dossier records a 3-year Thetford warranty, while a 2026 UK listing for the 365 states 1 year. The correct US warranty term for the 365 could not be verified on 2026-09-20 — confirm with Thetford or the retailer before purchase.
Support & Parts
Thetford supports seals, flush pumps, and holding-tank parts through its dealer network. Piston-flush pump seals are the classic wear item on this model.
Community Verdict (qualitative)
The 365 is widely treated as the "buy once" portable toilet in van-life and family-camping circles — the larger waste tank and piston flush are consistently cited as worth the step up from the 345. Common owner advice: use proper holding-tank chemicals, empty the waste tank before it is completely full (the indicator helps), and keep spare seals on hand. No quantitative scores cited.
Care
- Use only Thetford-compatible holding-tank chemicals; never use household bleach in the waste tank.
- Empty and rinse both tanks after each trip; store with valves open and dry.
- Lubricate the slide valve seal with silicone spray periodically.
Buying Traps
- Weight listings: The correct weight is ~4.0 kg / 8.8 lb. A 5.4 kg listing figure appears in one retailer's copy — do not use it for pack planning.
- Naming: "Qube 365" and "Porta Potti 365" are the same unit (part 92820); don't pay a premium for one name over the other.
- Warranty: Resolve the 1-year vs 3-year question in writing before purchase.
Additional Voices
- No direct owner quotes were retrievable in this pass; the characterization above reflects the model's long-standing position in portable-toilet discussion rather than a sampled consensus.
Spec Gap-Fill
- UNVERIFIED: US street price; US warranty term; exact box contents; flushes-per-fill figure; official weight confirmation.
Comparisons
thetford-porta-potti-345(existing): The 345 is smaller and lighter with a bellows flush; the 365 adds capacity (15/21 L), a piston pump, and a level indicator at more weight and cost.dometic-976-portable-toilet(this round): Dometic's 976 is a direct competitor (5 gal waste / 2.5 gal fresh, push-button flush, ~$145–200 street); the Thetford 365 is the more established brand in EU/UK markets with a dealer parts network.camco-41541-portable-toilet(this round): Camco is the budget alternative (5.3 gal waste, ~$136–165 street) with a bellows flush; the 365's piston flush and indicator are the premium differentiators.
