Cleanwaste Toilet in a Bag

Published · Researched 2026-09-21

Brand: Cleanwaste · Model: Toilet in a Bag · Category: Disposable waste-bag refills Lineup note: This is the refill-pack product — 15 toilet bags + 15 Poo Powder treatments — and is distinct from the existing dossier /library/gear/hygiene-sanitation/cleanwaste-go-anywhere-toilet-kit/, which covers the full GO Anywhere Toilet Kit (seat + bags). Do not confuse the two.

Version Lineage (2023–2026)

• Cleanwaste's bag products have been sold throughout 2023–2026. "PETT bags" is legacy terminology for the same bag line — Cleanwaste now markets them as Toilet in a Bag / WAG BAG products. This is a rename/relationship disclosure, not a separate current "PETT bag" product.
• The WAG BAG / Toilet in a Bag line remains the standard for pack-out-toilet-bag systems in areas requiring human-waste pack-out.

Overview

A refill set of 15 heavy-duty toilet bags, each with one Poo Powder treatment. The powder gels and deodorizes waste — each treatment gels 21 oz per the product copy. Use inside any portable toilet frame or bucket (including the GO Anywhere Toilet Kit), tie off, and pack out. No toilet paper, hand wipe, or disposal bag is included in this set — it is bags + powder only.

Community Verdict (qualitative)

Toilet-in-a-bag systems are the standard answer where land managers require human-waste pack-out (river corridors, alpine zones, desert). Cleanwaste's Poo Powder is the reference gelling agent; the bags are widely stocked at outdoor retailers. No sampled consensus or scores in this pass.

Care

• Store bags dry; moisture can prematurely activate the powder.
• Double-bag for transport per local regulations.
• Dispose in trash where permitted — never bury used bags.

Buying Traps

• Not a complete kit: This set has no seat/frame, no TP, no hand wipe, no disposal bag. The GO Anywhere Toilet Kit (cleanwaste-go-anywhere-toilet-kit) is the complete version.
• PETT naming: Old "PETT bag" references are the same product line, not a separate item to hunt for.

Additional Voices

• No direct owner quotes were retrievable in this pass.

Spec Gap-Fill

• UNVERIFIED: weight of the 15-bag set; bag dimensions; official MSRP; shelf life of Poo Powder.

Comparisons

• cleanwaste-go-anywhere-toilet-kit (existing): The full kit includes the folding seat plus bags; Toilet in a Bag is the refill-only SKU. Buy this when you already own a frame or bucket setup.
• pact-lite-bathroom-kit (this round): PACT is a cathole-digging kit (shovel + wipes + mycelium tabs) for areas where burial is legal; Cleanwaste is for pack-it-out areas. They solve opposite regulatory situations.
• reliance-hassock-portable-toilet (existing): The Hassock is a reusable seat/bucket system; Cleanwaste bags are the disposable liner alternative.
