Sea to Summit Camp Kitchen Clean-Up Kit (6-Piece)

Published · Researched 2026-09-21

2026 lineup note: The packable dish station — Sea to Summit's Camp Kitchen Clean-Up Kit: a 10 L collapsible sink, pot scrubber with integrated scraper, dual-sided washcloth, quick-dry dish towel, and a 50 ml bottle of Wilderness Wash, all packing into a 5.4 × 5.2 × 2.4 in sack at 7.6 oz. The kit that makes Leave No Trace dish duty actually happen.

Version lineage (2023–2026)

• The Clean-Up Kit is a stable bundle; composition consistent across listings (REI, Backcountry, Ultralight Outdoor Gear).
• Item #STSZ049 (Backcountry).
• Specs consistent: 7.6 oz total, packed 5.4 × 5.2 × 2.4 in, sink 10 L / 338 fl oz in use (15 × 15 × 7.9 in); one listing cites 9.5 oz claimed weight — minor variance, UNVERIFIED which is current.
• Smart-buy advice: no bad years. The kit's value is the bundle, not any single piece.
• Uncertainty: no official changelog found.

Overview

The Camp Kitchen Clean-Up Kit is Sea to Summit's dish-duty system: a 10-liter collapsible sink (broad base, stiffened rim — it holds its shape full), a compact pot scrubber with integrated scraper, a dual-sided washcloth (coarse/smooth), a fast-drying absorbent towel, and a refillable 50 ml bottle of concentrated biodegradable Wilderness Wash — all in a stuff sack. REI, Backcountry, and Ultralight Outdoor Gear coverage plus owner reviews converge: it's the kit that turns camp cleanup from a dreaded chore into a two-minute routine, and the sink's packability (7.6 oz, tiny packed) is what gets it carried. The cautions: the sink is the same 70D PU-coated fabric as the standalone Kitchen Sink (puncture-aware), and the Wilderness Wash bottle has leaked in transit for at least one reviewer of the sibling Tool Kit — pack it thoughtfully.

Community Verdict

The Clean-Up Kit earns genuine enthusiasm from owners: REI reviewers describe converting from skeptics ("why didn't I already own this") after watching friends use it, Bivouac's reviewers call it life-changing for backpacking dish duty, and Ultralight Outdoor Gear's verdict praises the compact completeness. The sink is the star — broad, stable, genuinely useful. The minor notes: one Tool Kit reviewer (sibling product) reported the Wilderness Wash bottle arriving empty/leaked — a packing caution, not a product flaw — and the kit is sized for 1–2 people's dishes, not group catering.

Community Verdict — additional voices (appended 2026-09-20)

• Backcountry's "Why We Like It" copy captures the use case: stroll to the sink, squeeze the soap, scrub like home.
• Ultralight Outdoor Gear notes the Leave No Trace angle — wash 100+ m from waterways with the biodegradable soap.

Long-term durability & warranty-claim reality (2026-09-20)

• What breaks: the sink's taped seams with abuse (same as the standalone Kitchen Sink — punctures and seam-tape damage are the failure modes); the scrubber bristles with heavy use.
• What wears: the Wilderness Wash bottle (refillable — it's a consumable); the towel with repeated use.
• Warranty reality: limited lifetime warranty retailer-reported; claim-experience reports not found in this pass — UNVERIFIED.

Version history — year by year (2023→2026)

• 2023–2026: Stable bundle. No announced changes.

Head-to-head vs closest rivals (in this catalog)

• vs Sea to Summit Kitchen Sink (/library/gear/camp-kitchen/sea-to-summit-kitchen-sink/, existing catalog): the Clean-Up Kit includes the sink concept plus soap, scrubber, cloth, and towel — it's the superset. Sink-only minimalists buy the standalone; everyone else buys the kit.
• vs GSI Destination Kitchen Set 24 (/library/gear/camp-kitchen/gsi-destination-kitchen-set-24/, this expansion): the GSI set is cooking/eating tools; the STS kit is cleanup. The two together are the complete car-camp kitchen system.
• vs Reliance Aqua-Tainer 7 gal (/library/gear/camp-kitchen/reliance-aqua-tainer-7gal/, existing catalog): the Aqua-Tainer hauls the water; the Clean-Up Kit uses it. System pairing for base camps.

Care & maintenance

• Dry the sink fully before packing to prevent mildew; inspect taped seams seasonally.
• Start with cold water before adding hot (per STS guidance); max 140°F / 60°C.
• Refill the Wilderness Wash bottle between trips; check the cap seal — pack it upright or in a zip bag.
• No bleach on any piece.

Buying traps

• Capacity honesty: 10 L is plenty for 1–2 people's dishes; group cooking needs a bigger basin or multiple rounds.
• Soap bottle: pack it sealed and upright — transit leaks are reported.
• Not a substitute for hauling water: the kit cleans; you still need the water source (Aqua-Tainer, stream + filter).
