Ozark Trail Oversized Quad Chair
Published · Researched 2026-09-21
Exact model: Ozark Trail Oversized Quad Chair — the wider padded quad chair with fabric armrests and two mesh cup holders, 350 lb capacity, 9.2 lb. Not the Ozark Trail Basic Quad Folding Camp Chair (single cup holder, 225–250 lb, $8.97–$9.97 line), and not the XXL club/3-position recliner variants.
Overview
The default budget campsite chair at Walmart: roughly twice the chair of the $10 Basic Quad, padded seat and back, rated to 350 lb, with a cup holder in each armrest and a roll-top carry bag. For $20 it's the cheapest way to seat a big adult comfortably around a fire.

Pricing
⚠️ Prices move constantly — re-verify live before quoting.
- Walmart (crawled Sept 2026): $19.67 (gray/off-white colorway, one variant out of stock); $21.88 (Blue Cove).
- The Basic (non-oversized) Quad sits at $8.97–$9.97 — do not confuse the two.
Community Verdict (qualitative social pulse, 2026-09-20)
- Value pulse: "best bang for your buck" folding camp chair; ubiquitous at sidelines, tailgates, and campsites. Consistently recommended in "what chair for my big husband" threads because of the 350 lb rating at $20.
- Failure modes: fabric armrest cupholders tear with heavy tumblers; the 9.2 lb weight is heavy to carry far; stitching at the armrest joints is the known first-failure point; cheap steel frame will rust if left out; no cooler pouch on this exact model (that's the 400-lb "with cooler" sibling).
- Walmart review-summary consensus: durable for the price, roomy, folds fast — but treat as a 1–2 season chair at daily use.
Honest tradeoffs
- Comfort vs. carry weight: 9.2 lb is luggable, not portable. If you hike to your seat, this isn't it.
- Not a backpacking chair; it folds long, not small.
- The Basic Quad at half the price is fine under 225 lb — don't overbuy.
UNVERIFIED / needs live re-check
- Live Walmart cart price beyond the Sept 2026 crawl ($19.67–$21.88).
